Enjoy a virtual concert presented by the Gallery Players of Niagara and screened in the Central Library's atrium!
Theobald Boehm, a German musician and inventor in the 19th century heavily re-engineered the flute. His ingenious new key mechanism along with the use of precious metals such as silver and gold brought it astonishing new tone, colour, and projection. Discover how the French impressionist composers of the early 20th century Debussy, Ravel, Fauré, Poulenc and others were inspired to conjure a wealth of magical and evocative music for this astonishing new version of one of the most ancient musical instruments.
