Ulysses is regularly hailed as a "classic" and judged one of the most important novels ever published, yet it has also a history of being censored and many are the readers who either avoid it for fear of its intimidating reputation or give up on it shortly after starting it. This talk will explore what this "classic" status has meant for the book and what it means now.
The January Brock Talk is being given by Dr. Tim Conley, Full Professor in the Department of English Language and Literature, and has been co-organized by the Humanities Research Institute and The Centre for Canadian Studies.
This program is a virtual event via Zoom.
