Click here to access the online local names index

The St. Catharines Public Library, in cooperation with The St. Catharines Standard, has created an online Local Names Index. This index contains notices for Births, Marriages, Deaths, Adoptions, Anniversaries, and more. The index has records dating back to the 1830's up to February 1930. Historical records are being entered daily.

From July 2005 up to present day, notices that appear in the current editions of The Standard have been recorded in the database.

The information in the database is not a complete record of the event, it is merely an index of the pertinent information from the source newspaper microfilm. Complete information can be obtained by visiting the Central Library.

The St. Catharines Public Library's Local Names Index is hosted by the OurOntario.ca initiative.
