One eRead Canada: What I Know About You by Éric Chacour
The Canadian Urban Libraries Council (CULC) is excited to bring you Canada’s largest bilingual book club.
What is One eRead Canada?
Throughout April, public libraries across the country will participate in One eRead / Un livrel Canada, a Canada-wide community book club. Throughout the month, thousands of readers can borrow digital copies of Éric Chacour’s novel What I Know About You from their public libraries with no waitlists.
One eRead Canada highlights the benefit of open access to digital books. The high cost of digital content alone prevents libraries from diversifying their collections, meaning many authors and books are underrepresented and underexposed to Canadian readers. One eRead Canada demonstrates that when restrictions on access are reduced, readership goes up.
How to participate
Join Canada's biggest book club by borrowing What I Know About You for free on Hoopla Digital or CloudLibrary using your library card. Then, join us and CULC for a livestreamed event where Antonio Michael Downing, host of The Next Chapter will be in conversation with Éric Chacour and Pablo Strauss on April 30 at 7 pm.

About the book
A heartbreaking tale of a family and an impossible love, torn apart by secrets and traditions in late-twentieth-century Cairo.
