Program highlights

Start planning your Winter 2026 season with us when you grab your copy of our latest program guide. The Winter 2026 Program Guide is available in print at all SCPL locations and online on our website.

Mark your calendar for these upcoming registration dates:

January program registration will be December 15th
February program registration will be January 19th
March (including March Break) program registration will be February 16^th

Looking for winter break programs? Please note that school break programming for the first week of January has already launched alongside other December programs.

Upcoming Programs for Children and Families

Crystal and Fossil Collecting Club with the NPGS

Saturday, March 7 | 2pm

Children 6-13 can join us for a monthly club with the Niagara Peninsula Geological Society where we will learn about rocks, crystals, and fossils. Each month we will learn about a different mineral or fossil, and everyone will get a free sample for their own collections!

Drop-In: Kpop Demon Hunters

Saturday, March 14 | 2pm-4pm

Calling all HUNTR/X and Saja Boys fans! Children and families are invited to the library for an afternoon of activities and crafts inspired by the film.

Saturday, March 21 | 10am

Using a mix of education and humour, learn about science with Mad Science!

Upcoming Programs for Teens and Tweens

Stay Safe Home Alone Course

Saturday, January 10 | 9:30am-1:30pm

Teens and tweens ages 9-14 can learn basic first aid and safety skills. Participants will take home a Stay Safe! Workbook and completion certificate at the end of the course. Course fee: $75.

Babysitting Course

Saturday, February 21 | 9:30am-1:30pm

Teens and tweens ages 11-16 will learn how to provide care to children in a variety of age groups. Participants will receive a Red Cross Babysitter's Workbook and Certificate of Completion. Course fee: $80.

Friendship Bracelets

Monday, March 16 | 10:30am

Teens and tweens ages 9-14 can how to make a friendship bracelet to share with friends or keep for yourself. We'll show you how to make a classic style of friendship bracelet - the candy stripe!

National Film Board of Canada Screening: Posthumans (2025)

Saturday, January 17 | 2pm

Join us for a free film screening of Posthumans, a documentary that follows cyborgs, biohackers and transhumanists as they attempt to outsmart illness, slow aging, and even cheat death.

Gather a team of up to 4 people for SCPL's jigsaw puzzle competition!

Unerasing Ourselves: St. Catharines, Canadian Literature, and the Past
