Teen Review: Batman Arkham Asylum
Batman Arkham Asylum
Video Game
The game starts off with Batman locking Joker away in the Arkham Asylum. Joker later escapes, and we must complete a series of battles and challenges to get closer to Joker and lock him away for good. We must travel inside of the asylum to fight enemies such as Scarecrow, Bane, Harley Quinn, Killer Croc, Poison Ivy and Joker himself. Upon unlocking new areas of the asylum, we will be met with many puzzles and side missions. The game tests our intelligence as well as reaction time and creativity. After fighting enough enemies, we can unlock new technology and skills that will help us in the future. Each time we complete side missions, we will unlock missions to complete outside of the main story, so even if the main story is finished, there is still something new for us. The game is also available on multiple platforms, which makes it easy to find and play.
This game has many strengths and few weaknesses. One strength that I would like to point out is that the game allows us to choose our own style to play the game. By unlocking new skills and technology, we can choose to base our play style on stealth or fighting, or both. One weakness that I found was that some areas for side missions are locked until we get a certain item, and it can be time consuming to return to that area. I liked the diversity of the missions of the game. One thing that could have been done better is reducing the amount of Riddler’s trophies. I would recommend this game to anyone who likes the Batman Universe. Overall, I give this game a 5 out of 5 star rating.
