Teen Review: The Titan's Curse

The Titan's Curse

Rick Riordan

The Titan’s Curse is the third book in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. The book revolves around another adventure of the protagonist, Percy Jackson. The events of this book start with Percy and his friends arriving at Westover Hall, a high school where their friend, Grover, was sent previously. After meeting Grover and finding the demigods, Percy proceeds to fight Dr. Thorn, who we find out is a manticore. As the fight goes on, Dr. Thorn escapes, throwing Annabeth, another of Percy’s friends, down the cliff. After returning to the camp, Percy decides to go on a quest to save Annabeth and the goddess Artemis, but when he is rejected, he sneaks out anyways. Later, he finds his enemy Luke and his army planning how to take down the group. Luke and the figure known as the General revive 12 skeletons that attack Percy and later keep following him on his adventures. After travelling for some time, Percy and his friends arrive at Mount Tamalpais, where they find Annabeth and Artemis and learn that the general is Atlas. After a long battle, Percy and his other friends travel to the camp, where the story ends.

This Item has many strengths and not as many weaknesses. One thing I enjoyed about this book was that it always kept me interested, either in the plot or the characters. One weakness that I found was that the book did not talk about events happening outside the quest. I would recommend this item to anyone who has read the two previous parts, and for anyone who hasn’t, I would recommend reading the previous books. I give this item 5/5 stars.
