This summer SCPL is encouraging people of all ages across St. Catharines to consider the time they spend reading. Whether you're reading all day at the beach, finishing a quick chapter while on public transit, or reading picture books during bedtime - if you've spent some (or all!) of your day reading, you can log that activity for a chance to win prizes.
The Summer Reading Club is an all-ages reading program that runs from Saturday, June 15 and Saturday, August 31. Simply register for your READsquared account online or via the app on your iOS or Android device to begin tracking your daily reading. For every day of reading tracked, you'll earn 100 points to go toward our end-of-summer raffle. We suggest reading for a minimum of 15 minutes each day. Tip: If you're using the app, search for "St Catharines Public Library" without the period after "St"
You can register just yourself, or track your entire family's reading progress from one account.
Stay motivated to read all summer by building your Summer Reading Club necklace. You can earn one bead for each day of reading that you complete, plus a special milestone bead for every 5 days of reading. Visit your favourite SCPL branch often to collect your beads and build a one-of-a-kind necklace.
Celebrate your summer of reading with our raffle. Your Summer Reading Club points can be used as raffle tickets. 100 points = 1 raffle ticket. Prizes require 1-2 raffle tickets to enter the draw to win, but you can enter to win the same prize as many times as you like! If you have multiple linked accounts in READsquared, remember to change between the linked accounts on the left sidebar in order to access and spend points for all accounts that are logging reading for this Challenge. View the entire list of available raffle prizes on your READsquared account.
Note: Raffle tickets are only available through READsquared. If you're only participating in-person, ask an SCPL staff member to help you enter the raffle on READsquared.
Submit all your raffle tickets by Saturday, August 31st to be eligible to win cool prizes for all ages!
