Summer Reading Club
This summer, SCPL is encouraging people of all ages to consider the time they spend reading. Whether you're reading all day at the beach, finishing a quick chapter while on public transit, or reading picture books during bedtime - if you've spent some (or all!) of your day reading, you can log that activity for a chance to win prizes.
How does it work?
The Summer Reading Club is an all-ages reading program that runs from Saturday, June 20 to Saturday, August 29. All you have to do is start reading for 15 minutes each day this summer and report your daily reading via our reporting form below or in person at an SCPL branch.
For each day tracked, you’ll automatically have a raffle ticket entered into a draw to win some awesome prizes. The more you read, the better your chances of winning!

The Summer Reading Club Necklace
Stay motivated to read all summer by building your Summer Reading Club necklace. You can earn one bead for each day of reading that you complete! Plus, we’re excited to be featuring a special “Bead of the Week” to help jazz up your necklace. To get the special Bead of the Week, all you have to do is visit your local SCPL branch during the week.
Visit your favourite SCPL branch often to collect your beads and build a one-of-a-kind necklace.
The Raffle
Celebrate your summer of reading with our raffle.
For every day that you read this summer, you automatically will have a raffle ticket entered into the draw to win some cool prizes! Prizes will be drawn in early September and winners will be contacted!
While participants won’t be able to indicate which prizes they want the chance to win this year, we’re excited to have a lineup of all-ages prizes you’re sure to love, like gift cards to local bookstores, restaurants, and more! All participants will be eligible to win any of the prizes up for grabs. Stay tuned to find out what prizes we have in store for you!!

FAQ
What is the difference between registration and reporting?
We require all Summer Reading Club 2026 participants to register. This will help us link your reading efforts to your profile so that you can maximize your chances to win a prize at the end of summer. You only need to register once.
Through our reporting form, you can let us know throughout the summer how many days you've read. You can submit as many reporting forms as you like, but each day of reading will only be counted once towards the prize draw at the end of summer.
Simply report all the days you remember reading and our staff will remove any duplicate entries if you’ve accidentally submitted some days of reading twice.
Why can’t I pick which prizes I want to win?
Unfortunately, we don’t have a way for participants to select specific prizes they want to win. However, you can indicate what type of prizes you're interested in when you complete your registration form.
What is the Bead of the Week and how do I get it?
Each week, we’ll have a new special bead available at SCPL branches to help you create a unique necklace. All you have to do is visit one of our locations to pick up your special bead. However, once the week is over, that special bead will no longer be available. So, make sure to plan your weekly visit to the library!
