Catalogue and Borrowing Upgrade

Niagara Library Collective is the name of the new online catalogue and borrowing system shared between SCPL and Niagara Falls Public Library.

The current system hosting our customer accounts and online catalogue will need to go offline as we move all the information to the new system. The offline period will take place between November 8 and November 17. During this time, several SCPL services will be unavailable.

As part of the migration process, all of your holds will be moved over to our new system.  

These lists will not be included in the migration of your account onto our new system. If you’re using the “My Lists” feature on our current online catalogue (only available in the web browser version), we encourage you to print or email yourself your lists prior to November 8th by using the “Select an Action” toolbar in each list.

No action required! Your account will automatically be migrated onto our new catalogue system during the offline period between November 8 and November 17. Please be mindful of some disruptions to our regular services leading up to or during this time.

If you already have the MySCPL.ca app, this app will automatically update after November 18 to become the Niagara Library Collective app. To download our library app for the first time after November 18th, search “Niagara Library Collective” in your app store. From the app, you will be able to manage your account, browse the collection, and place holds.

Yes, Our Digital Library will still be accessible during the offline period.

No, your current library card will work on the new system following the migration. 

Once the project is complete, you will be able to use your SCPL card to log into the Niagara Falls Public Library catalogue, browse their collection, place holds and borrow materials. Just remember, Niagara Falls Public Library materials must be picked up from and returned to a Niagara Falls Public Library branch!
