3D Printing

From figurines to phone cases, you can make it all on the SCPL 3D printer at the Central Library. Design your own 3D model at home or find a ready-made design (.stl or .obj file) and bring it in on a USB stick and staff will print it for you.  

Cost  

$5.00 for all prints up to and including 30 grams of filament.   

$0.15 for each additional gram  

Limitations  

  • The maximum print time is tied to the operating hours of the Library. 
  • Printing will be done according to the Library’s 3D Printing Policy. For more information, call us at 905-688-6103.

VHS to DVD Conversion

You can convert your personal VHS tapes to DVDs at the Central Library. The entire VHS tape or selected segments can be converted. Please note that the equipment will perform the conversion but it cannot change or improve upon the image on the VHS tape. Commercially produced tapes cannot be converted.

Lamination

Preserve your favourite photos or documents with SCPL's laminating service. For just $2 per laminating pouch, you can request lamination for up to 3 items at any SCPL branch.  

What cannot be laminated by SCPL?  

We are unable to laminate official documents that may be made invalid by the process. Examples of documents that we won’t laminate:

  • Any government-issued ID or documents such as travel visas; proof of vehicle insurance or registration; birth, marriage or death certificates; certificate of Canadian citizenship, etc.
  • Educational certificates, degrees, diplomas, transcripts, etc.
  • Business or property ownership or registrations.
  • We can make copies of these documents and laminate the copies.
