Teen Review: It Takes Two
It Takes Two
Video Game
I will be reviewing It Takes Two by Hazelight Studios. The story is about a dedicated mother named May and a stay-at-home dad named Cody facing divorce. Their daughter Rose, feeling distressed, seeks a book titled "The Book of Love" by Dr. Hakim to mend their relationship. Unexpectedly, May and Cody transform into dolls crafted by Rose, with help from The Book of Love to assist in rekindling their bond. As they embark on a quest to regain their human forms, they gradually work on mending their relationship along the way.
This tale is truly delightful; I enjoy witnessing the characters and their interactions, and the conclusion is very heartwarming. While some moments may feel somewhat slow regarding character growth, it ultimately resolves well, earning the story a 4.5/5. This might be the most innovative a game has been in terms of gameplay. Moreover, the world building is fantastic; one moment you might be in a snowy city, and the next in a vast garden. It never lets you feel bored, always introducing something exciting in each chapter with unexpected twists and fresh gimmicks that remain interesting and aren't worn out. Additionally, there are minigames to enjoy with your player 2, like Tug of War and Chess (but remember, you need to locate them throughout the world), and I really enjoy that!
The gameplay receives a 5/5 rating. I would recommend this game to my friends and people who enjoy fun and entertaining gameplay!!!
