Teen Review: The Grand Budapest Hotel

The Grand Budapest Hotel

Movie

The Grand Budapest Hotel is a movie about a Hotel Concierge named Gustave and his lobby boy, Zero, who work at a highly renowned hotel as they go on a journey to clear Gustave’s name over an inheritance murder. Throughout the film, they meet different people who aid or aim to stop them from reaching this goal. The film's central focus is on the two's dynamic throughout this journey; I heavily enjoyed the pairing of Gustave and Zero, and their actors did a great job portraying them. This movie has a very unique style when it comes to camerawork, music, and dialogue, and director Wes Anderson left a very strong mark on it. I found the story very enjoyable, but I also found that there was strong profanity that not everyone may be a fan of. There is a certain spectacle to this movie that is so unique, and I had an incredible time with it. I would recommend this to anyone willing to take a step out of their boundaries and try something new and enjoy comedies in conjunction with occasional action and drama. 5 stars!
