The Hawthorne Legacy is the second book in The Inheritance Game series. It follows the main protagonist, Avery Grambs, after she very suddenly inherited a billionaire's entire fortune and is thrown into a world of secrets and puzzles she must solve. The book follows Avery as she tries to figure out why she was chosen to inherit the fortune and how the Hawthorne family is connected to her own. Along the way, she discovers many secrets from the Hawthorne family. While Avery tries to solve riddles and puzzles to figure out the truth and survive threats made against her, she also has to figure out who she can trust and deal with the feelings she has for two of the Hawthorne brothers, Grayson and Jameson.

It can be confusing at times with so many twists and secrets; you really need to pay attention and remember past clues and details to make connections

This book leaves you with some answered questions, which is why it's recommended that you read the entire series in order

Liked the romance aspect. When the plot slowed down at times, the drama between the characters still made it interesting

Liked how each of the Hawthorne brothers is very different from the others. They are complete opposites. There is a wide variety of personalities and characteristics.
Disliked

The side characters, including some of the Hawthorne brothers, are overlooked. Characters like Nash and Xander are not talked about as much as I would like.
Would I recommend this book?
I would recommend this book. People who enjoy mystery books with a hint of romance would really enjoy this book. It has great plot twists and secrets that the reader gets to discover alongside the characters, along with a love triangle between Avery Grambs and two of the Hawthorne brothers. The author Jennifer Lynn Barnes is one of my favourites.
